Gary joined the East Coast Asset Management team as a principal and Senior Managing Director on July 1, 2011. His responsibilities include client counsel, portfolio management, comprehensive financial planning and business development. Gary is a member of our investment and financial planning committees.
Gary has specific expertise in helping clients create a financial plan of action to guide them through wealth transitions such as retirement, employment transition, sale of a business, liquidation of stock options, inheritance or divorce.
From 2006 through June of 2011, Gary was Managing Director at Lexington Wealth Management where he continued to build and serve a thriving investment management and financial planning practice for a select group of high net worth clients.
From 2004 to 2006, Gary was an Investment Advisor and Financial Planner at Wingate Financial Group where he began and cultivated a financial planning and investment management practice. Before his tenure at Wingate, for more than seven years Gary served as Vice President of TFC Financial Management, a boutique financial planning and investment management firm in downtown Boston.
Prior to joining TFC, Gary served as a Financial Planning Consultant in the Office of Retirement Programs at Harvard University, where he provided comprehensive financial planning services to faculty and staff. From this experience, he developed a specific expertise in the field of retirement planning and academic retirement plans utilizing TIAA-CREF. Gary’s practice continues to occupy a niche in academic circles, where he currently serves past and current faculty and high level administrators from leading academic institutions.
Gary has been a Certified Financial Planning practitioner since 1996. He is a chartered member of the Financial Planning Association and an associate member of the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA). He is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Community Legal Services and Counseling Center and was a co-host on the Money Matters Radio Show on WBNW AM 1120.
